Touchdown!

Enthusiastic honking, spectacular splashdowns, riveting aerial demonstrations -- all hallmarks of what apparently was a special goose gathering.  They came from all directions in large groups, settling on the water out front with great fanfare.  There must have been a hundred of them.  I suspect it was an occasion of some sort  --  maybe an initiation or graduation for all the kids who have now grown up and can join the big flocks.  It was pretty impressive I must say.  And here I thought it was going to be a quiet uneventful Sunday.  I shouldn't forget that I can always depend on the wildlife for entertainment.
