Garden to table

As is often the case, most of the crop matures simultaneously so this morning I cut 4 heads of this beautiful Broccoli Romanesco which I grew from wonderful  Franchi seed, and put 2 heads on my neighbour's back doorstep and 2 into a pot on my own hob, gently steamed it till just tender then into a baking dish and covered it with cheese and parsley sauce and a topping of grated cheese, ready to accompany a spicy chicken casserole for dinner.
