Newark, UK

Before today, Newark was just a train station where I changed trains to go on with my journey, or (in the US) an airport where I caught my connecting flight. But now I have actually seen this charming town and sat a while with my brother and niece and enjoyed a very nice lunch and coffee at one of it's establishments - "The Bean and Vine". This is the home of Newark Castle where the nasty King John died a slow and unpleasant death.
I had a chat with my sister and another niece who are sheltering in Tennessee from the Hurricane that is about to batter her home in Florida. She is holding her breath to see what transpires in the next 24 hours.
