A Year of Life in Fife

Nouro

It was wet and cold our planned day at the pool had to be abandoned. We ended up wandering around the nearby nondescript town of Nouro instead. That probably would have been ok on any other day of the week but on a Sunday everything was closed. We did manage to find a great cafe for lunch. Then we visited the ethnography museum which was housed in a lovely, expensive new building. But minimal effort was expanded for non-Italian speakers and the staff were not welcoming. My abiding memory of the place will be the two poor stray dogs in the entrance area which were badly in need of attention. The museum staff must be aware of them and I don't understand how they can ignore them. It really upset me.
