Aysgarth Falls

Another early start and tough day in the saddle. Matthew and partner Mary were also up early to run the Great North Run. Cycling from Hawes with a hard climb onto Wether Fell and then on to Dodd Fell. At times lashed by heavy showers and a strong head wind. A worrying moment when some cows had escaped onto the road. As I passed a cow with a calf she charged. Fortunately I was heading downhill so released the brakes and avoided contact. At that point I decided enough was enough and scooted downhill to the finish to be greeted by cow bells......not something I usually experience.

On the way home made a short diversion to Aysgarth Falls. Where we bumped into some people we know from Pickering. The Falls were spectacular after recent rain. Looking forward to a lie in tomorrow!
