Atlantic Ghost Crab

This guy really made us laugh. Usually when you catch sight of these "ghost crabs" on the beach it is just for a moment when they zip back into their holes. But this guy was standing on the threshold of his hole, and then as we came closer he came out and stood up as tall as he could and menaced us with those big white claws! He really thought he was fierce!!

Lots of activities on Chincoteague today. Flea market; motorcycle poker run gathering, plein air art show... And glorious weather to go along with all of it.
