Across the Sound of Barra

From Eriskay to Barra on the Loch Alainn.

After staying on North Uist, we have usually headed north to Harris and Lewis, but this time we decided to go south and visit Barra, which we have never been to.

Meandered our way through South Uist, mostly in rain, but when we crossed the causeway onto Eriskay, it was suddenly sunny and bright and fine. We watched the boat come in and then boarded. An idyllic crossing on a sunny afternoon. Wonderful views all around. Perfect. 
   
We now have a day on Barra. The forecast isn’t good, but we will explore and make the most of it regardless.
