The Lake of Menteith .....

A visit to Aberfoyle this morning to have coffee and lunch with friend M.

If the weather is fine I usually take a quick trip down to the lake to soak up the wonderful view. Today the weather was perfect with not a ripple on the water.

The Lake of Menteith is also known as Loch Inchmahome.
There are a number of small islands in the lake. On the largest, Inchmahome, is the ancient monastery Inchmahome Priory which was a refuge for Mary Queen of Scots when she was only 4 years old.
