Had access to a pumping station that drains part of the fens today. To the right and left are 4 feet diameter water pumps driven by Scania V8 diesel engines - the original engines were replaced in 2007 after being used since 1937 but the pumps are still from that time and still in good condition.

In other news I had a lot of blood tests on Monday (after I insisted on a medical, although I have yet to have a physical checkup, the prior week) and on Friday I got a letter from the surgery which I have yet to open and I also have a missed call from them yesterday so I wonder.
