The Pelion train
We went on a delightful train journey today. We were on the little Pelion train on a journey from AnoLehonia uphill to Milies. It's a narrow gauge track of 60cm. There were views out across the Pagasitikos Gulf and inland olive groves. We traveled over a 5 arched bridge and later an iron bridge which is unusual in that the bridge is straight and the rail track curved. You can just see this in the blip.
The journey took us high into the Pelion mountains the land of the centaurs - half human half horse mythical beings. There was also an amazing 18th century church with its walls covered in frescoes in Milies.
