Shadow / Light / Reprise
Robyn Woolston
This is Deane Road Cemetery. It's tucked away in a side street. I hadn't realised it was there until I read about this. It's a Hebrew cemetery and for years has been pretty derelict and beaten up. Recently a group of volunteers secured lottery funding to have a go at restoration. It isn't complete yet, but they're a long way forward. As a celebration both of the restoration works and the people who lie there, Robyn Woolston installed 124 lights among the graves and broken walls. For one night only. It was a nicely calming experience to walk around just enjoying the atmosphere.
