I have a little routine for working from home: concentrate on whatever I'm doing for forty-five minutes, and then take a break to make coffee, tidy up, put some washing on, whatever. And since this activity invariably involves walking about, my Fitbit chirrups happily to tell me I've completed 250 steps in the hour, which appears to be its acceptable minimum.

It's nowhere near enough in itself to get me up to ten thousand for the day, though, so I took a longish walk to Booths at lunchtime, going through the rugby club and then down the radical steps to the river. I like it down here and there's a stretch of path that you could almost imagine as a dockside, just at the foot of the lane up into town. I wonder if anything ever came up the river to Kirkby from Lancaster?

There were a few people around, including a couple of guys building what looked like a small shack, and just further along, there was this, which I assume was one of their machines. It was positioned as if it was taking in the view and it reminded me of an 'old droid' stye machine from a science fiction show.
