Salvage
Salvage crews prepare to remove the hulk of a Sunseeker 62 motor cruiser that sank following a devastating fire last Friday.
As you will see the adjacent fishing boat was badly charred.
No one was hurt and the emergency crews did a magnificent job and avoided a major disaster
Most boats today are plastic and have on board a cacophony of flammables such as diesel, petrol, oils, gas and wooden fitments.
It as mandatory to carry sufficient fire extinguishers and fire blankets but if a serious fire takes hold there will be little time to do anything apart from abandon ship
Fortunately fires which cause total loss are rare
