Aaaaah, bliss
We are spending a couple of nights in the lovely town of Leon. Leon is famous for several things:
what is proported to be the most beautiful gothic cathedral in Europe containing over 125 stained glass windows;
the Convent of San Marcus, now a parador
and it's place on the Camino de Santiago the religious walk taken from times past to Santiago de Compostella in the far West of Spain.
I attach extras of the Cathedral but my main blip is the statue outside the Convent of San Marcus. One of the main duties of the convent was to house the pilgrims on their way west. I think the look of sheer bliss on the face of this pilgrim is wonderful; he has taken sandals off and sat down.
