C/O Berlin
Tori and I went to see the wowe portrait exhibit going on there. It's right up the street from my house and this is the first time I've walked through the doors in two years. It's a historic building that used to serve as the old Postal Headquarters for Berlin. When I say old I mean, the one that served the city for Hitler sits across the street... Hitler's was the new building.
There are pictures inside of what the building looked like in it's Glory Days with horses, carriages and post men packing the street outside. There were pictures of the domed ceiling and incredible woodwork and tile work. Unfortunately my neighborhood did not fair well in WWII, and the shell is intact but the interior was miserable and a stark contrast to the beautifully presented photography.
And then we happened upon it. C/O Jr. Where children's work is displayed. Photographs, sculptures... and then lamps. That's right, there was a small corner devoted to lamps. Some standing, these hanging. And designed by children.
If you're ever in Berlin you should stop by, even if all you see is the children's art - it will be worth it!
