The reason

This is precisely why I can't give up Blip.  I doubt anyone will be able to work out what it is because it's such a crap photo - but it's one of our tiny jumping spiders (Salticidae) performing his courtship dance.

Utterly incredible to watch, I was awestruck.  As was his little partner to be - she couldn't keep her eyes off him.
