The Red Admiral

was resting in the middle of an allotment where l had gone painting.  l haven't seen many of these this year so it was good to capture a picture of it.

lt was a fun session painting today with a friend who also likes to plein air paint. We had a good natter over a cup of coffee before spending a happy hour or two drawing and painting among the clusters of sheds and sweet corn. Then lunch in a new Deli.. delicious samosa and salad for me
(extra is of the watercolour sketch l did.. hope to have another go at it using the drawings, this sketch and a few photos but no time today.  l dropped the painting before it was dry the damage can be seen clearly!)
