An Evening with John le Carré
I had a day at home today. Mum went to the Mothers' Union this afternoon.
This evening we went to hear the live broadcast of John le Carré from the Royal Festival Hall. He spoke extremely well and we enjoyed it. After the interval, he was interviewed by John Snow. I thought the interviewing could have been better.
Many of the usual suspects who we see at the live theatre screenings were not there, so the cinema was on the cold side. (Not enough bodies to keep the temperature up, but perhaps suitable for talk of the Cold War!)
Maxine, of Maxine and Tim, was there with son Ben. Tim (of Root and Branches) collected their other son, Bryce, from the airport. I caught this picture of Ben and Maxine, just before Tim and Bryce arrived to collect them. Most of you will remember that Tim is camera averse, so I did not attempt a family portrait. I might try on Saturday at the private view of Tim's exhibition.
They are standing in front of the market area in Hexham and some of the lights come from the Abbey.
