Security

My plans changed at the last minute and I ended up in places in the city I hadn't expected to be in. This is the top of the Ramblas with more security in place than before the terrorist attack. Walking down the route of the van (which was incredibly long) was weird . . . it wasn't the same as the always-carefree-full-of-wonder-and-relaxation strolls here that I've enjoyed in the last 26 years. It had an underlying horror at the sheer awfulness of the act - given what I've seen on video of the huge speed of the van, then I am sure that none of those murdered instantly would have been able to conceive of what was happening. It would have been lights out, just like that.
