Millennium Coastal Path and WWT National Wetlands
A nice day which started with another swim and then a bike ride along the Millennium Coastal Path to the WWT National Wetland Centre Wales. We arrived in time for some lunch and then heard there was a Kingfisher near the Sir Peter Scott hide. So off we we went and we did see him a few times and he landed just once. I was about to take a photograph when this bloke in the hide (who also wouldn't stop talking) decided to play with his new camera (he was on the other side of the hide) and it didn't like whatever he was trying to do and sounded like a flipping fire alarm! Net result Kingfisher scarpered! Amused I was not! So we will now be going back (although we would have done anyway). There were a couple of little grebes and one was quite successful in catching fish. To console ourselves we stopped at Flanagan's for a very tasty chocolate milkshake. And a nice bonus was a BBC Weather Watcher's Editor's Pick for last night's sunset and the picture third from top on the right. Plus that one was also on the local weather forecast tonight! I'd rather have photographed the Kingfisher though!
