Ancient Dentist
I hardly took the camera out of my pocket all day, and so this grainy image from the garden behind the nearby dental school will have to patch me through for a blip.
The dentist depicted here is not named, but when it's storytelling time I go to Thomas William Evans, who founded the place and is grandly buried down the street.
The other "Philadelphia Dentist" was Doc Holliday, the legendary gambler & gunslinger of the American West. He earned his credentials here in 1870-71, at a college that was later merged with this one.
I hope to properly blip the many faces that serve as ornaments at the top of this building next time I'm here for an appointment.
