Will it, won't it...?

If this bud on the clematis actually opens and becomes a flower, it will be the one and only this year! I think we hard pruned it rather late and it really took a grudge!

I shall just wait and see....

The apples and pears are falling faster than we can do anything with them and this morning we had to put a large bucket of windfalls out for the dustman in the food waste. The freezer is already full. Maybe we should start having desserts apple crumbles more often. I don't think so...

I walked into town this morning. It seems most other schools here return tomorrow. The shoe shop was certainly busy with last minute fittings and there were a lot of children in Pizza Express at lunchtime, celebrating the last day of the holidays.  

This evening I've heard from two of my ex colleagues....mmmm
