A room with no view

The air is so smokey that I cannot see much from my window.
Usually, I can see trees and hills and houses.
Oregon has suffered this summer with what seems like constant smoke from forest fires on the West coast. Clear cutting is beginning to sound like a good idea. The only thing I know is that next year, the areas burned this summer should not be a problem which is small comfort.
