Under water

Walking below the cliff at low tide, we looked at the high-water mark above our heads and thought how strange it was that, had we been there just a few hours earlier, we would have been under water.
Later, on top of the cliff, we found a fossil fish and thought how strange it was that, had we been there just a few million years earlier, we would have been under the sea.
