Curious about why these barges were on the river..." PGE is working to fill in a hole in the Willamette river bottom that's about 100 feet wide and 18 feet deep which has exposed buried cables. The exposed cables aren't unsafe, but the erosion is straining them. Workers are filling in the hole with sand and gravel."
