Dartmoor ponies
What a grey day up on the moor. On the way back from Yelverton we came across this group of ponies sprawling across the road. Except for the greys and the mealy muzzled Exmoor, they resemble the Dartmoor native breed more than most of the others we had passed.
The River Dart looked less angry today and there was that lovely autumnal smell of wet rotting leaves and bracken. Other than ponies there were many sheep and cattle grazing including Welsh Blacks and South Devons.
