Red Rock Canyon view at dusk

Today I arrived in Las Vegas, NV, checking in at the The Orleans Hotel & Casino on W Tropicana Ave, close to The Strip.

The sole reason for being here is the 2012 Olympia Weekend which is held September 27-30, at the Orleans Arena, and the Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Center. I have some heavy work days ahead of me!

So it is not all fun, gambling and shows in Las Vegas ("Lost Wages") as most people think!

The Olympia is the Professional World Championships of Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure competitions. It is the "Olympic Games" of the sports mentioned.

My blip today was the view I captured from my 13th floor window, late afternoon, not long before dusk. You can see the shadows on the mountains of Red Rock Canyon, one of the Mojave Desert's most beautiful attractions. We have hiked in these wonderful canyons a number of times, long before we discovered blipfoto!

The flat square roof on the left is the roof of The Arena where the competition Finals will take place. You can see some of the hotel rooms on the right.
