Gardening

The husband was on day care this morning - I always feel pretty bad as he has the dissertation to finish, however I had some much needed 'time-off' and he had some much needed time with the boys.

I popped over to see a friend who is up for Burghley - we used to ride together and I miss our mornings dreadfully.  She was staying with friends who are local and had lots of tips for things to do with children around here.  Seeing my delightful friend was just the tonic, and did me the world of good.  Her friends live in a beautiful, very grand house, and we sat out side the formal dining room (with a table that seats at least 20), soaking up what little sun there was overlooking the beautiful gardens.

We had family time in the garden this afternoon and did justice to the last true bit of jungle at the top of the garden.  We discovered that the really tall buddleia was in fact growing through the wall at the end of our garden, so I have to go and see the neighbours about that.  It was so nice just being the four of us and getting on with sorting the place out a little bit.
