Bloody gladioli again

Sorry...another emergency blip and another vase of gladioli.

The big adventure started today at early o'clock. Billy and Brie were loaded up and transported to Dounby where Orkney's first endurance ride was taking place.

It was the first outing for Billy and EJ and a brilliant event to start them off. A very relaxed atmosphere and friendly folk. There was a lot going on, a Pony Club event at one end of the field as well as our group and winds gusting 40+ mph. Out on route he was a bit overwhelmed with it all whilst Brie acted like she was on speed and just wanted to gogogo and not stop even for a moment!! It became a little unworkable where someone had removed some of the route markers, the horses were in a tiz and myself and EJ couldn't even hear each other above the wind. We decided to call time and return to base. A shame but it was definitely the right thing to do and it was still a successful trip for our first outing.

I am satisfyingly cream crackered and about to scoff a big dinner...and Gorgeous has just surprised me with a cider!
