Der Weg ist weg

is a perfectly legitimate sentence is German that means "the way is gone".

We took the tram (and in München it is "die Tram") out to the very posh suburb of Grünwald.  The name means "green forest".  You can tell it's posh straightaway - it reeks of money.

We were there to take the walk along the Isar back into München - I like nothing more than to walk alongside rivers.  The Isar was not so much a river as a hammering torrent.  And as you can see from today's Blips parts of the way were completely impassable.  Things were quite exciting for a while, especially when we thought about how likely it was that the river would get higher.

And as we were thinking about that, and taking in the signs that warned us that there was a risk of landslip and falling stones, there was a terrific clap of thunder.  Not the most reassuring sound to hear when you're in a forest....

But we struggled through.  And crossing the bridges to the Flaucheranlagen was really amazing - the bridges aren't that high and the water roared through.  Made me very glad I'm not a fish.
