Sally Mair - Loving life

Southwell Minster

I'm in Southwell for the weekend, for the annual Cursillo gathering. I arrived this afternoon so while our for a walk I went to have a look at the Minster where the service will be held tomorrow. It's very beautiful and although a large part of it is Norman, with beautiful stonework, immense pillars and soaring arches, this West window is less than 30 years old.
It's not very often you see such an immense modern yet traditional piece of stained glass, so this is my blip for the day. The colours are very subtle and the design, featuring angels, is quite beautiful I think.
The extra is of the Minster in the evening light, the stones have a beautiful glow to them.
Apologies for lack of comments etc, I'm back-blipping as the wifi has been very weak, if there at all.
