Gannet

Today it was Trev and I who sat at the wharf and watched for the gannets. They came, just as we were deciding it wasn't our day. They tore up the channel and back again. Did a couple of dives and then one went way up and disappeared. Next thing it was diving west of the fishing platform. I ran up there but it had gone.
Still, I got three photos that I was reasonably happy with.
I wonder what speed they do as they fly past? The shags go faster and lower, almost impossible to get flying.
