Derelict Beauty

Tuscany trip day four (day three has been back blipped). Another early start (coincidentally, another revision day for Annie: can you see the pattern forming here?).

We set out to catch the sunrise, a bit more cloud today but that made for interesting skies. We had breakfast in San Quirico d'Orcia and took a wander through the streets of the town. After lunch we moved on toward Pienza, stopped for some stunning Tuscan views across the landscape. Although we had a few spots of rain, it has remained hot and humid. We returned to our base location to find some of the fields beyond in flames. Fire services including helicopters for water drops were on scene. Thankfully the wind (which has been ever increasing as the day progressed) was taking the flames away from us!!!
