Mischief

When I woke up this morning, he was on the bed diffusing my hair with his paws and getting ready to sleep for the day. I've no idea what time he came in. It's known that I can sleep through most things, but...

...when I tried to open the door of the bathroom, I found that it was weighted at the other side. I peeked round and saw the bathroom scales wedged against the door.

Burglar?

Poltergeist?

Cat!!? How did Juno move the scales from one corner to the other? They're heavy. After a coffee and a think, this is my theory – a mouse was involved somehow and Juno must have been on his side pushing the scales along with all four paws while the mouse was hiding under the rim of the scales. There's no sign of a mouse. Maybe he caught and ate it. Or maybe it's under the fridge, shaking in a corner. Let's see what tonight/tomorrow morning brings.

I had an hour or so in the sun this afternoon tidying up the garden. Juno disappeased through a smeuse to visit the neighbours who were out in their garden. It's strange hearing folk talk to and about my cat – the hedge between us is tall so they can't see me. I really do try to not listen. Luckily, it's all positive. I suspect know he spends a great deal of time over there. I'm glad that he's receiving shoogles from friendly people.

I watched In the Electric Mist and started a Kate Atkinson book Human Croquet, which I'm intrigued by so far.

It's the West Norwood Feast tomorrow and I'm up bright and early for a day out in the community. It looks like we have a dry day – whoop! We've been really lucky this year with the weather (*touches wood*).
