First among turnips

We went across town which took longer than expected due to the closure of Leith St and the consequent massive detour, but arrived at Nicholson Square just in time to enter our three most uniform and unblemished white turnips in the allotment show. There were a lot more entries than last time - four in the turnip class, but when we got back after a wander we found we had won first prize. No, no prizes - just a red dot on our card! Ours are the furthest from the camera - the huge whiskery ones nearest the camera didn't win anything.

The allotment show only started up again last year after a break of about five years - it was in a different venue back in 2011.
