Last Goodbye

At last we are back home after an amazing two weeks of adventure , photography, friendship and intense colours sights sounds and heat. GB looks very cool and green in comparison.
I'm so sorry that I didn't have time to respond to all the hearts stars and comments on my blips while we were away. I read and appreciated every one. There was barely time to choose and upload our own blips every day and no time to look at any others, so I feel a bit out of touch with the Blipworld

We had arranged to go to have LooseCanon's mother's ashes interred at the churchyard in Great Missenden where she had lived for many years. It was a lovely, quite short ceremony and afterwards we had a look around the church and graveyard.
Just down the hill slightly is Roald Dahl's grave. There is a memorial beech tree with a seat around it and a quote from The Giraffe the Pelly and Me 
' We have tears in our eyes
As we wave our goodbyes
We so loved being with you we three
So do please now and then
Come and see us again
The Giraffe and The Pelly and Me.'
Some years ago my mother in law arranged for Road Dahl whom she knew quite well, to sign a copy of The Giraffe the Pelly and Me for our daughter. She still has the book kept safely. This seems an appropriate quote for today.

 I liked these colours  cast on to the stone inside the church by the warm sunshine coming through the stained glass window.
