Pretty Prague

We have been staggered by the prettiness of Prague. It fully deserves its label as one of Europe's most beautiful cities.

Despite being visited by millions, there is so much to see in Prague that the hordes are scattered across a large area. It only feels ramjammed at a few key hotspots such as the Karluv most (Charles Bridge). Throngs of locals and visitors crowd the bridge, posing for wedding pictures, begging, taking snaps, selling trinkets, peering down into the River Vltava, and drinking refreshments.

We spent several hours ambling in gorgeous weather, around the sights of the Stare Mesto (Old Town) and up to Prague Castle with fantastic views and a descent back to lower elevations down the Stag Moat, a natural ravine so named because deer were kept there in past centuries. We skirted the Old Town through a long park known as the Letna, and completed the final leg on the metro before our ankles gave up the ghost.

In the evening we hung around the neighbourhood and ate falafel from a takeout place staffed by an Uzbek from Bukhara, which he was surprised to learn I'd been to.
