Godrevy Lighthouse
Had an enjoyable walk across the Gwithian Towans Nature Reserve and dunes. The beach was very busy with families, bathers, paddle boarders and surfers. Hopefully, the Lifeguards had a quiet day.
There was a fine view of the lighthouse which marks Stones Reef. It was built in 1859 after a number of lives had been lost.
We then orienteered on the dunes further to the west. Both of us made mistakes, Richard's cost him time but mine involved missing a control out. Frustrating but it did not spoil the enjoyment of navigating in technical terrain. We met up with other intrepid northerners who had made the long trip to the South West.
Loooking forward to trying to complete my course tomorrow.
