Just Look at that Face!

Dear Diary,

Our coldest morning yet 33F, just above freezing!  I had to turn the heat on I am sorry to say.  Little Philomena looks a bit shocked at the seed bowl as well.  She and Hoover will have a new urgency to their seed gathering I suspect and I will put out extra seeds for them.

I hung a bird feeder too.  It will take a while for the birds to find it again but I am sure it won't take long.  When Andrew came to mow yesterday you could smell the change in the air.  The coming of autumn has a very distinctive smell to it.  Oh, we will have more warm days to come I'm sure but the wheel is turning without a doubt.
