Fowler's Toad

The only photo I took all day today! Rainy days have that effect on me. Anyway - it was my day at The Wildlife Center of Virginia and I only managed to photograph one patient. This is a Fowler's Toad and his story is here.

Isn't he cute? I hope he heals enough to go back to his life in the wild. He's swimming back and forth in a small container as physical therapy. 

We leave tomorrow morning for our annual two week sojourn on Chincoteague/Assateague. Expect shorebirds, boats, sunsets, scenes from downtown Chincoteague and the like. Unless the wifi proves to be seriously iffy, in which case expect nothing.
