Baby pigeon number 2

On 27th July baby pigeon number 1 hatched from a tiny egg in a nest on a perch in our chicken barn. He/she grew into a mini adult pigeon and flew from the barn just over a week ago.

Meanwhile, mum pigeon was obviously broody and laid 2 more eggs in the same nest. This morning I checked the nest (mum flies out when I go inside the barn) and there was this tiny baby. What looks like a white hat is in fact the other unhatched egg.

The extra is the view from our room where we are spending the afternoon/night in the village of Alkham near to Folkestone on the Kent coast.
