Dry Refuge

It's been quite dry here, and Bill and I don't think we've ever seen the ponds/lakes/sloughs as bone dry as this picture shows.  Silly me didn't park the camera right by the battery charger as I usually do, so we took off and I left the battery behind.  I did have my iPhone, and the photos aren't half bad, I guess.  Better than nothing at all.  It's very quiet on warm summer days at the Refuge, so not a lot to photograph anyway, other than landscapes.  The weekend is coming!  But with that comes hot temperatures and the return of forest fire smoke drifting in from the fires that are actually a long way from us.
