Maggie's Centre Aberdeen
Mrs CBL's brother was diagnosed with a brain tumour a last month. This week he began a six week course of radiotherapy. We have been lending our support in various ways over the past few weeks but today we were the ones who received support when we dropped into the Maggie's Centre in Aberdeen.
Maggie's Foundation has set up a network of drop-in centres across the United Kingdom which aim to help anyone who has been affected by cancer. The staff and volunteers are so welcoming, warm and friendly, helpful, caring and thoughtful. I am so pleased that we decided to make a visit as it was heartwarming and reassuring.
Each Maggie's Centre has an unique architectural design and the one in Aberdeen is shaped like a scallop shell, it is indeed a safe haven. Extras show how natural lighting has been used to great effect.
