Cave Exploring

So we read about these caves in our hiking book and decided to find them. After a sunny trek near Muizenberg, find them we did, and then we spent hours shimmying on our bellies and elbows through the labyrinthine tunnels. To be honest, it got a bit scary at times, as there was sunlight showing at neither end the majority of the time and so our our only sources of light were the frail beams coming from a cell phone and my wind-up flashlight. I was especially afraid of cornering a puff adder, but then we listed all the reasons why a puff adder wouldn't be in the tunnel (they like sun, right?) and that helped. This picture is taken on one of the more spacious points along the tunnel system, if you can believe it. Usually we were shimmying on our bellies.
