Much Ado About...
…a pork pie!
M, B and I are off to see The excellent’ Lord Chamberlain’s Men’ perform Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ in the Walled Garden at Holkham Hall this evening. The trouble is it’s absolutely pouring with rain at the moment…we are all keeping our fingers crossed that it might have passed over North Norfolk by 6:30pm when the performance begins.
Why is the blip of a pork pie? Well, of course, M and I had to buy some provisions to nibble on during the forthcoming entertainment, and having made our choices it occurred to us that we only ever eat pork pies when we go to some kind of outdoor event…I think perhaps we feel we can ‘spoil ourselves’ on such occasions as they are infrequent.
Of course, they’re not ordinary pork pies…oh no…’they have been made by experts with over 160 years of experience and consist of seasoned British pork encased in rich, scrumptious pastry’. No prizes for guessing which food establishment they were purchased from!
PS: Silly Me...M just pointed out that we're going to see 'A Comedy of Errors' not 'Much Ado...' etc. And I was so pleased with my blip narrative...which has turned out to be a Comedy of Errors indeed!
It's my age you know!
