Toden Arakawa

Sleep eluded me until at least 04:00 this morning, so I didn’t go exploring until after 14:00 this afternoon. I’d read about the Toden Arakawa Streetcar Line before I left home so it was on my list to try out. I made my way to Minowa station easily enough but had to ask for assistance from a passerby who was completely delightful, and practically brought me to my destination of Minowabashi Station using Google Maps on her phone. Another example of the lovely reception I’ve experienced here on both visits, and why I often offer to help tourists in Belfast.

Anyway, the streetcar line was as interesting as I expected. I was on board for around thirty minutes. It’s a real community facility and I would say that 80% of the passengers are elderly people and the rest are young families. The line has single cars only and the drivers wait for people to get on an off at their own pace. A complete delight to experience.
I've a bit more shopping to do and then it's all about the journey home via Dubai. After that, I'll stop spamming you all.
