Schönbrunn Palace

I went to Vienna by train with 5 other girls this morning. One of them is from Germany and hadn't been to Schönbrunn before. I didn't take a camera despite my resolve to never go anywhere without one. I have been to Schönbrunn several times and I didn't realise we would be there so long. Our plans changed and we ended up spending the whole day there. It is so much bigger than I realised and I will have to return. I didn't go on the tour with the others girls of the palace as I have been before and I have some visitors from Australia coming in September so I decided to wait in case I go with them. I went to the gardens, which are beautiful but starting to wilt a bit being so late in summer. There are 2 arch ways, one of red roses and this one which is made of wisteria. I had no idea what it was until I saw the outside where the flowers were growing. I couldn't resist converting to mono with the lovers conveniently at the end of the tunnel.
I was cross about the camera when a red squirrel appeared and hung around for a while eating on the edge of the path. Superzoom would have been much better at capturing it - the iPhone image zoomed up looks more like a toy squirrel (extra)
