First Gig

My daughter's vocal group sang the National Anthem at a "family fun day" event today.  It's the group's first gig of the new school year.  Since it was close to the house we stopped by to listen and take some pics. The rest of the day was tough.  We headed across town for a funeral of a friend who is gone much too soon. It was a packed house for the service.  In fact we ended up standing for the whole thing - almost an hour and a half.  While it was good to see so many faces I hadn't seen for some time, my heart is heavy for his family and for all the friends he leaves behind.
