New Specs - can't see!

I had my eyes tested at the beginning of this month and ordered new glasses. Trouble is, I can actually see better with my old ones! Thought it was just my eyes needing to adjust to the new prescription but think I'm going to have to take them back to get the prescription checked as I just can't get used to these at all.
