Not the same glamour as steam but casting an eye over this beast of a machine conveys the impression everything is there for a purpose and without any concession to style or eye appeal.
It was parked up (on a private siding) with a row of wagons right in front of what we were supposed to be surveying today. I think the driver had gone home for the bank holiday.
